This is a quick and simple way to make dry shampoo at home from all natural ingredients. Great for those in between wash days or just when you feel the need to freshen up. It worked really well on my hair, just as well as a shop bought one, but with no nasty chemicals…and much cheaper too! I have blonde hair so any natural powder colour blended in well but if you have brunette hair you can mix in cocoa powder to colour match, and for auburn hair it can be tinted with cinnamon. I haven’t tried this technique but I think it would work, as long as you like the smell!
You will need:
50g arrowroot powder
4-5 drops essential oils
You can use any oils you like the smell of, Rose would be really nice or Lavender. I used a mix of Geranium and Sandalwood for a fresh, clean, soapy smell.
Put the arrowroot in a clean, dry pot with a lid, add the oils and shake until well mixed. Store this way and use a makeup brush to apply to your roots. Leave for a minute or two then brush through.
